I was born in 1981 and grew up in Melbourne, Australia. My parents were two gothic rock musicians who had successful independent careers during the '80s and early '90s. Having a stepfather of Greek decent and a mother of German decent meant that I also spent a lot of my childhood traveling to and from Australia to Europe, experiencing two entirely different worlds, yet feeling equally at home in both environments.

The musical influence in my life sparked my own musical talent at age twelve, when I began playing guitar, and singing and writing my own songs and music.

During my late teens, I became an aspiring rock singer/guitarist and played various gigs around Melbourne as the leader of a group called SpAnk. My ability to write passionate song lyrics and heart-wrenching melodies soon stimulated an enthusiasm for literature just in time for my acceptance into Latrobe University, where I studied subjects such as modern English literature, fiction writing, nonfiction writing, screenplay writing, editing and publishing children's literature, myth and ideology, and eighteenth-century romanticism.

During my university years, my passion for writing began to bloom. The magnetic pull of my Greek roots, however, led me to permanently move to Greece in 2002 after I graduated. Due to citizenship difficulties, I spent my first two years on a small Greek Island isolated from the real world, where I pushed myself to grow artistically.

In 2004 I moved to Athens , and in 2005 I started working for New Editions (now a part of Cengage Learning)—an English language teaching publisher—as an editor.

In 2007, I decided there was more to life than the monotony of the nine-to-five rat race and directed my attention toward becoming an independent freelancer so that I could focus more time on personal projects.

Since then I have been working on a freelance basis for Cengage Learning, Macmillan Education, Education First, Pearson/Longman, and Signature Manuscripts, both as an editor and a writer, and I have various published ELT credits.

Biography

In the meantime, I have written a women's fiction novel, called DEAD IN THE CORNER OF MY BEDROOM, as well as various poems and songs to keep my creativity and musicality in motion.

Today, as well as keeping up with my freelance work and musical skills, I am working on two more projects—another women's fiction novel with the working title, BITTER LIKE ORANGE PEEL, and a memoir with the working title WE'RE NOT ORDINARY PEOPLE.

I am also currently seeking agent representation for my novel DEAD IN THE CORNER OF MY BEDROOM. I now live in Athens, Greece, with my fiancé and dog.
